But A Poor Reflection: Climate changes in blogosphere

Hey, Paul. Typically, here in Florida, our February is pleasant - comfortable days and cool nights. However, we've had a cold front come through this week with strong winds, so we've been below freezing at nighttime.

I live in Tennessee (central/southeastern US). It's a bit cold here but we escaped the ice storm that hit just north and west of us. Our winters are usually pretty dry and range from bearably cool to well below freezing. We rarely see snow. This year is pretty typical.

I am concerned about climate change. While I believe that cyclical global climate change can be a natural thing, the scientific evidence is overwheming that our actions have influenced and continue to influence the global climate negatively. Governments should put into place responsible programs to limit pollution and greenhouse gas emmissions but the problem will not be solved until individuals behave responsibly toward the environment and take our stewardship role seriously.

I live in Sao Paulo, Brazil, though we live also in the South Hemisphere, our summer have not been as hot as previous years. It have been rained more than average and our South region suffered a lot with floods, also we have thunder more than often.
I am worried for weather conditions mostly because of warming temperatures at North Pole and for lacking of water in some regions of Earth.

I live in Pretoria, South Africa. Until reading this post I hadn't thought much about the weather but we have been having a lot of rain and flooding. This time of year is normally hot with a lot of rain showers but perhaps we're having a little more than usual.

I was at the Maropeng Cradle of Humankind museum over the weekend and it was highlighted there how we as humans are indeed severley influencing climate change. We certainly need to start getting serious about changing how we live.

Here in Finland the winters have been a lot warmer in the last ten years or so. When I was a small child and a teenager, we lived in Western Finland and the lasting snow fell on the yearly November or late October. Then we had white grounds until late March. Every Christmas was a White Christmas.

This is very rare nowadays. Last few years lasting snow fell on January and it is melting slowly in the following days. We have had many Black Christmases. Finland used to be a skiing country but nowadays not so many buys skis anymore and children don´t know how to ski.

Climate is warmer here now, that´s for sure.

It's not been too bad here in Perth, Western Australia. We've had some fairly hot days and have been very glad to have air conditioning but it's been nothing compared to the heatwave on the other side of the country.

There are huge bushfires raging across states in Australia's east. Over a hundred people have been confirmed dead and others are missing.

I'm not sure if it's about climate change or just the natural cycle of weather conditions but I do think we need to take better care of our planet.

    Hi Paul!

Today in Alabama we are experiencing a "heat wave" for early February. Temps here are more like spring than winter right now. We are really enjoying this break from a colder than usual winter. Lots of shivering southerners around here the last few months! Thunderstorms are forecast for this evening...change is coming!

I do believe we can and should do more to take care of the planet (reduce, reuse, and recycle) but I am a bit skeptical about humanity's role in creating the apocalyptic climate change we keep hearing about. I am no scientist but a look at the available historic data suggests that the world is doing what the world has always done, getting warmer, getting cooler. Cyclical fluctuations seem to be the norm and unless I'm missing something, it looks as if we are in the midst, or on the downward side, of a warming cycle.

I find all of this discussion humoring as I vividly recall dire warnings of the impending ice age in the early 70's when I was a mere child. We may soon be burning all these reports on global warming in order to stay warm.
